OOC Information!

  1. Walk-ups and tells are completely okay! when in doubt, I’m always okay with people approaching OOC first— and I generally prefer this!

  2. IC != OOC. While there are some facets of Reede that reflect my own personality at times, my IC feelings are not expressive of my OOC feelings. I ask that people I write with try to maintain the same boundary.

  3. That being said, if I’m ever unclear on something, please by all means feel free to ask for clarity OOC. I try to be as accommodating as I can there!

  4. All players and characters must be 18+. This is a boundary I will never concede on. Please do not ask for an exception. People unfortunately have been really weird or uncomfortable about this to me in the past.

  5. While I’m okay with lore-bending or lore-grey concepts, there are some that I draw a line on for the sake of curating my own experience. Concepts outside of the realm of possibility within the lore, I will never be interested in writing. Including, but not limited to characters traveling to/from other shards, necromancy, concepts rooted entirely in lore from other games/franchises, or otherwise things that would be on the power-level of Warriors of Light.

  6. While I’m not completely uninterested in the prospect of shipping or more adult topics/subjects within RP, I generally prefer to engage in that with people I've written with previously and have built some form of trust with. Not to say that it is completely off the table, but talk with me first, please!

  7. This carrd is not always up-to-date! Between being a bit slow or forgetful, or updating profiles elsewhere, there's some details that could be missing. When in doubt, feel free to ask!

Background

Reede is a kind-hearted academic using what talent they have to do the right thing.Leaving Dalmasca at a young age with their family, their roots were planted in La Noscea. Growing up, they took a special interest in Botany— spending their childhood and early-adult life honing that skill. Taking it a step further, their goal was to make their beloved hobby something that could leave a mark on the star.After emigrating to Sharlayan, they sat amongst the ranks of the Gleaner’s Guildship for a time, before retiring in pursuit of academics. Choosing to focus their studies on Somanoutics and Aetherology, Reede later chose to walk the path of Sharlayan’s own Sages.Further contributing to the betterment of man. Reede submitted a thesis of their own studies relating to their beloved hobby— herbal medicines’ effect on recovery time in conjunction with Somanoutic arts. This was an astounding breakthrough, and earned the Forum’s approval for an Archon’s Mark.After going on an adventure of a lifetime with their beloved friends in Tural, Reede's life of adventure is far from over!In the meantime however, Reede has taken the time to speak as a guest lecturer in the Studium for a handful of topics, mainly that pertaining to what earned their Archon's mark.

Quirks

  • Usually always some degree of overdressed, be it too sophisticated or dressed too warm for the occasion . (They always realize just a little too late)

  • Extremely animated in conversation. Talks with their hands, ears standing up or flopping down, and somewhat cartoonish expressions at times are all mostly in their wheelhouse!

  • Easily excitable, and passionate for what they love to boot! They can and absolutely will talk your ear off about their interests, given the chance.

  • An archetypical nerd. Passionate for learning new things, and even more so for witnessing something new.

Adventure
Reede's want of new adventures is something that can lead them to almost anywhere! Always looking for a new story to tell or sight to see, they're hard-pressed to say no to somewhere or something new!
Dalmasca, or the Skatay Range
As someone who wasn't very in-touch with their heritage while growing up, Reede is always interested in learning more regarding where they came from! Be it the culture of their brethren from the forests, or anything else that would give them a better idea of who they really are.

With most of their greater accomplishments being tied to the place, Sharlayan is something near and dear to Reede! Between their history with the Gleaner’s Guildship, their years as a part of the Studium, and their status as an Archon— to say that Reede has spent a lot of time here is an understatement.

With it being their lifelong hobby, Reede is one that is always happy to share a fun fact about their discoveries over the years, or help in the study of something related that's new!
The Studium
As something massively impactful on Reede's life, they've decided to give something back! As of late, they've found themself as a guest lecturer on Somanoutics and Aetherology, as well as some facets of Anthropology when given the time. Maybe your character has heard of their work, or caught wind of one of their lectures!
